We always talk about Longboat and Siesta Key but today we’re on much smaller Island Lido Key All right here’s a map of Lido Key so Basically when you come off of the Bridge from downtown Ringling Bridge it Is the second island because you have to Pass bird key first and then another Bridge to go to widoki and this is where Our office is right on St Armand’s Circle you can hear us talk about St Armand’s Circle all the time and it’s on Lido Key and I find it to be I feel like We’re on vacation even when we’re at Work yeah I mean you’re driving by the Water it’s beautiful out of course it’s Really hot right now but something I you Know we’re going to talk about some of The facts of the the key the thing that I’ve always found most interesting is That Leona Helmsley uh she used to have A hotel here called the Helmsley and They said she really did come down here And she was like worked out of there Three four five months out of the year Yeah then when she passed away the old Story about her leaving the money to her Dogs and not her kids Um it’s true she lived out on she had a Home out on Siesta Key on the south side Of Siesta Key is my understanding and All the money was left left in a trust For the caretaker of the dogs with along With the house instead of leaving the

Money to her kids I love it something Interesting yeah they have demolished That hotel they have and I’m not sure Which one it is to be honest with you I Just don’t remember it is from here it’s Past the green roof over there Um that’s the Lido Beach Resort it used To be just south of there and it was an Old you know it was an old structure it Was due my guess is probably built in The 70s she probably bought it in a you Know some type of real estate Transaction so but yeah I just thought That was I always thought that was Really interesting it’s the sort of the One thing when people ask about Lido I’m Like oh you know Leona helmsley’s Selling the place down there so yeah and Lido Beach Lido Key I should say is not Very large it’s the I would say the Second smallest to bird key out of all The islands wouldn’t you say it is and I I think the the thing you have to Remember about Lido is that the beach Here is really public and when I say of Course yes they’re all public beaches But this one has a lot of parking and it Has a lot of different places for for Tourists to park so there’s going to be A lot more people here it’s not as bad As Siesta Key but it’s more similar to Siesta Key than it is Longboat where There’s only a couple Beach accesses and There really aren’t a lot of people out

On those beaches so I always you know Whenever I think of you know hey we’re Gonna go out to Lido Beach I’ve got to Remember like there’s gonna be a lot of People out here it is it’s public I mean I find there to be always ample parking And there’s a huge parking Pavilion There’s actually a community pool there I do yep So right now it’d be nice to jump in too I mean it’s real it’s literally like in The mid 90s here as we sit in early August I guess yeah so it’s pretty hot 2023 here Um but speaking to your point about the Public versus private beach so even like The single family homes that are Beachside they are still Um public out here unlike some of the Other islands like on Manasota Key which Is much further south right the homes That are Beachside actually own to being High water at tide right Um and so it’s very different so you Really have to know like what you’re Buying get to know sure like do you own The sand or is it public well and even On Longboat Key you you think about There aren’t that many Beach accesses But you can physically walk all the way Down the beach like you know there People are asking of course because St Regis is coming how close is it to Saint Regis well it’s you know there’s a

Couple Beach accesses that are close to It but at the end of the day you’re Gonna have to walk all the way down the Beach to get to it and my understanding Is the only access you’ll have if you do Walk down the beach as to the tiki bar That’s out on the on the beach that’s it So everything else and so generally Speaking when we’re comparing the Islands like you can walk as a member of The public you can walk like in the Water space or whatever like or close to It Um unlike there are parts of for example Anna Maria where they are sectioned out They’re cordoned off and those are Technically private areas of the beach Right you can do that but right Um in certain condos in single family Home communities Um but out here it’s pretty much yeah It’s all it’s all public so what’s cool Is now the parking lot is down there We’re on the uh we’re on the north side Of Lido here this is like we’re seeing Like a pathway Um and it kind of is like a nice walking Path definitely not in August looking at Although I see people running and Vlogging and exercising I mean my brother my brother my dog and I we go early in the morning like when I Say early in the morning like 5 30 Before the Sun is up we’ll get out and

Usually the temperature pictures like Around 80 sometimes we’ll get lucky it’s In the high 70s but it as soon as the Sun’s up it’s immediately right to 90 Degrees so yeah so Switching gears when It comes to the Lido Key uh real estate This is an area that is more walkable so When we have the question about the log Ability sure kind of where we are are Right now and behind the camera it’s Sort of like the most walkable anything Right around the St Armin circle Perimeter Um as you kind of get down further south It’s less walkable too and when we say Walkable we say to the restaurant right To the restaurants and the activity you Know when you’re looking at at Longboat Key it really isn’t walkable at all I Mean you’re not walking from anywhere on Longboat Key to Saint Armands it’s like You could theoretically but it’s a long Walk it’s a long walk whereas here if You you have a house or a condo that’s Back here on the Lido area it’s easily Walkable I mean you’re talking a couple Blocks and you’re right at St Armands For dinner or drinks okay You realize how short this video is Essentially but it Yeah you can barely think so but if You’re looking to buy or sell on Lido Key or around a Longboat Key anywhere in Sarasota um you can reach any tunnel
