Just learned to tie my own flies and decided to take them out to chase some snook. Got my first fish on my own flies and it was an awesome feeling.

[Music] [Applause] Well I've been out of town for the last 10 11 days traveling for Christmas went To Bama see family and then the Western North Carolina Mountains for a few days With the fam and we had a blast but I'm Home and I decided I was ready to go do Some fishing um over the holiday break I Learned to tie flies I got a little fly Tying kit and I have four of them with Me so that's all I'm really doing right Now is I'm just going to go try and play With the flies that I tied and see if I Can get a fish on them um they're not Amazing looking they're beginners I got Four my very first four I'm going to Play with Um I'm going to play on these Flats over Here by this mang grve where I know There's a bunch of trout hanging out uh See if I can get one of those and then Once the sun goes down in about an hour And a half I'm going to go hit some dock Lights and see about that but there's no Tide movement after this in in Inflow happens so um I'm not feeling too Good about the lights tonight but that's Okay we're just out here to play around And throw supp flies so see how it goes So these are my little flies right here Get some sun on I just did some little white ones and Then a couple of I guess they're in a

Way Claer but I'm going to start with one Those clausers out here on the flats and Then I'm going to use the little white Ones in the the dock lights one's white One's kind of white and gray light Gray so play around with these all right Here's the first one I'm going to throw White and green F see how it Goes F Oh got one got one got a fish on my own Fly oh man did he get Off nope still on there heck yeah I did It y'all it's a little Jack little baby Jack hell Yeah that makes me so happy I Did it actually I think it's a yeah Little Jack on my own fly would you look At That look that That all right just a little Jack but Hey man that's it I did it I officially Got a fly on my own I need fish on my Own fly a little closet wonder if There's any bigger ones out there that's Fun that's exciting that makes me really Happy I thought he was got off Because uh Because Um well because he stopped Uh he swam straight towards me get my Thoughts to get of

There and when he swam straight towards Me I thought I didn't have on it But they'll do that sometimes huh all Right let's see if we can get another One this Thing you God this is the Worst part of flight getting everything oh there he is ah damn got Him A how do they keep getting off the hook Do not Understand There we go there's One little baby Guy look how cute he Is so I guess we're doing a little micro Fishing tonight maybe we'll get a snook Off the lights though a little more size To it till then I really don't mind playing with these Little Guys all right there Two they haven't destroyed my fly yet It's actually holding up really well I Thought it would be shredded by Now oh look he's chasing it right there Got Him oh that's a little one of those ones With the with the Pokey bellies you Don't want to you got to be careful of These cuz they'll sting you and it does Not feel good I forget they're called

Skip jacks or something oh Buddy see those spikes on his belly will hurt you bad so got to be Careful got Him got him another little One yeah another little Guy come Here come Here there's other fish that come up and Swim around Him All right this is exciting for [Music] Me here a little white Fly wait for the dock lights it Is up next is a little just little white Fly with some light gray feathers in it It's what I'm going to use for the dock Lights see how that Goes lots of fish in this light just Showed up some with the little Sid I Have to assume they're Snook now are they eating I don't know There's barely any current so I'm Probably not but I'm going to throw this Little fly at them anyway see what Happens Oh they chased it a little Bit good to Me Got one got him yeah buddy there's the Fish be a little Snook be a snook on my own fly Come on baby it

Is yeah that's why we came out dud What a successful day first A first a um a jack then a snook on my Own Fly uh-uh uhuh you're hooked and you're Coming with Me I got a net but I'm not going to use It I'm just going to flip you over cuz You're small yes yeah on my own Fly chill chill look at that oh that Makes me so happy by tiny little dink Snook is so much fun on the FL and it's still in good shape I can Throw it out again hell Yeah Got him yeah that's a good fish that's a Good Fish that's some decent snug bigger than The last one I Think Yeah Yeah to Wo Hell yeah on the Fly baby on my fly my Fly come up here let's see You he does not want to come up not a Bad fish not a bad Fish hell Yeah on the Fly got a little net over here kind of a net but be better than trying To they feel so big on the Fly Rod so Much bigger than they Are come here

Buddy you're hooked pretty good aren't You hey hey that's a nice sok that one's In the 20s below 20s hell Yeah and maybe 18 ni 20 in2 In a bit better hold on ate my fly you Ate my fly that I Tied very cool Man very cool Just for funsies let's get A measure He is come on you 20 right 22 22 in hell Yeah man y that was so much fun and so Satisfying um running up to public I Just got home finished to clean the boat But to tie my own ties tie my own tie my Own flies like that and then Um and then go out and actually catch Some fish on them and that's that's that Might be more satisfying than catching The bait to catch the fish which is also Very satisfying but uh yeah that was a Blast so um I'm going to do some more of That
