So you're looking to make the move to Sarasota Florida but you're not sure Exactly what Sarasota has to offer Welcome to the Florida real estate guide Hosted by Noah Ward on this episode we Are going to be diving into the top five Reasons why I personally made the switch From Wisconsin to Sarasota Florida Because a lot of you are moving from out Of state to here in Sarasota and you Haven't visited Sarasota very frequently So you want to know what are the ins and Outs of Sarasota maybe why you should be Moving to Sarasota or what you should Really be aware of when moving to Sarasota so in this episode I'm super Excited to share all this information With you and share with you some of the Reasons why I made the move cuz maybe You guys can relate to that so let's Kick off this episode talking about Reason number one and it's probably the Most common reason I would say and that Is going to be the weather coming from Wisconsin I wanted to escape the co cold And pretty much enjoy the warm weather Year round as we all know Florida you Know the coldest Florida realistically Gets is you know 40° here and there Maybe in the winter months um but that's Only for you know the nighttime lows and Things like that in the summertime I Really like the um the temperatures are Between you know 75 to 90° this year it
Was a little abnormally warm it was in The '90s for a very long period of time Cuz typically that only lasts for a Couple weeks out of the Year this year It seemed to last about a month and a Half 2 months and then the winter temps Are very nice and Mild they're anywhere Between 50 to Upper 70s which is super Nice you can go and enjoy golfing Fishing kaying boating whatever you want That's a super nice time to visit Florida especially living in the area Which is why snowbirds come down here in The winter months and I personally enjoy You know paddle boarding kaying you know The inter Coastal waterways and also Along the gulf so it just makes it Perfect to you know move to Florida Where you can do Sports you can do Outdoor activities year round without Having to to worry about being cold in The snow so that kind of brings us now To the second reason why I made the move To Sarasota and that is going to be the Better quality of life and what I mean By that is you know in Wisconsin and a Lot of you guys can relate to this is When you're in a cold climate you know Wisconsin's Winters are like 8 to n Months long right so you have this Period of time where you're just stuck Inside the whole entire time you know For me I really enjoyed ice fishing and I did like Stone bailing but as the
Years went on I just got a little bit More too sensitive um to the cold and it Just wasn't you know something that I Really enjoyed anymore so I had to quit That um but here in Sarasota what I Loved about moving to Sarasota was you Know they have some of the best beaches In the world we have the world renowned Siest Beach as you guys all know about With the white sugary sand beaches it's Probably one of my favorite beaches even Though Venice Beach I think comes in at A close second it's a little bit more Private than Siesta Key and I also love Just because you can enjoy the warm Weather year round like I said you can Go kayaking you know paddle boarding you Can go golfing year round without having To worry about any kind of snow the Other nice thing about Sarasota is that It is a small town Vibe but it you know It has big city amenities and what I Mean by that is you know Sarasota still Feels small because you know it's not a Big City where you get lost however it Has a lot of great amenities that a Typical big city would have so I think That you'll find that quite enjoyable When you make the move to Sarasota and I Think the biggest thing that Sarasota Has been getting is because it's been Voted you know the best places to live Best places to retire you know best Beaches in the entire United States for
Many years now so it has gotten a lot of Recognition here and I'm surprised when People still don't know where Sarasota Is located just because you know it's It's on the newspapers it's in the Magazines for the voted the best places To live right um and that's kind of what Caught my eye when I did decide to move To Sarasota was you know all the Accolades that Sarasota was getting and Along with all the accolades Sarasota Was getting that's going to bring us to Our third reason as well and that is Going to be the variety of dining Options that Sarasota has and what I Like about Sarasota cuz I traveled the Country I've gone to pretty much a lot Of the states except I haven't visited Much of the East Coast yet um but for The majority I went to California I've Been Midwest you know all the way around The United States pretty much and I Think that you know Sarasota has a very Diverse food scene all the way from like Italian to authentic Mexican to uh local Seafood right and what I really like is That there's a variety of things to Choose from like my favorite Italian Spot is called Napoli which is off of Us41 it is by a chef that actually came From Italy and I think is probably the Most authentic Italian food you will Ever find they make amazing Woodfire Pizzas I'd highly recommend that you
Guys go check out Napoli restaurant when You are in the Sarasota area because There's nothing more genuine than that Place if you're looking for more Seafood I highly recommend Owen Fish Camp great Place it's a very low-key Vibes it's Very busy so make sure you do make a Reservation at times then some other Good spots are like Station 400 and the Beach house but really in Sarasota There's such a variety of things that You can go you know you can explore you Know it's just not one kind of food it's A variety of foods because Sarasota is a Melting Pot for a lot of different Ethnicities and if you are into the Craft beer scene you know Sarasota has Over a dozen local craft breweries in The area so if that's something you're Interested in that's definitely another Reason why to move to Sarasota or at Least visit Sarasota right and you know I've been vacationing in Sarasota I Would say probably for about 3 to four Years before I made the move and Beforehand I was you know going down to Captiva Santa Bel for about a month out Of the year and Jo enjoying that weather And then that's when I kind of made the Switch to start vacationing in Sarasota And you know what I really liked about Sarasota was the local community and the People right um I just felt like I told You before it has a small town Vibes but
It has a lot of big city amenities right And it makes you still feel close-nit Because Sarasota is not terribly big but It's not terribly small at the same time You know I love going to the farmers Markets in Sarasota there's a variety of Different farmers markets all the way Across Sarasota County that you can go Check out there's one near downtown Sarasota there's one by Lakewood Ranch There's one in Venice you know there's Different ones throughout the whole Entire area right and if you are huge Into art right if you are a art Connoisseur so to speak you know Sarasota is known to you know be a very Artsy kind of community right so we have A lot of art festivals we have a lot of Art galleries in Sarasota and we also Have you know some Opera performances um Throughout the year in Sarasota so There's a lot of you know live Entertainment you know art festivals and Stuff like that so if you're very artsy You will like downtown Sarasota with the Murals sculptures everything like that It's just a great scene to you know at Least visit and check out to see if it's Something that you're interested in Right so besides the amazing local Community what I also fell in love with In Sarasota and this is going to bring Us to our fifth and last reason it's Going to be the recreation and
Adventures that you can go on here in Sarasota um in fact so Sarasota SAR s County I should say because in Sarasota County we have Northport and Northport Is the only city in Florida that has a State park and the state park is Myaka River State Park it's a 37,000 Acre State park just located off of Highway 75 it's a great Park to go to you can go Walk hike you know you can bike you know Camp whatever it may be you can go see Alligators um you can go see wild pigs You know turkeys you know Wildlife it's A great time to go there highly Recommend when you do come to visit Sarasota that you check on Myaka River State Park cuz there's some great actual Scenes um to take pictures at and stuff Like that um but besides Myaka River I Really like you know kayaking the Mangroves kayaking mangroves is really Cool um you'll see alligators you'll see Fish um and those alligators are Harmless by the way they're not they're Not going to attack you um so just to Put that out there and if you are new to The Sarasota area and you want to go Check out what all of Sarasota has to Offer Sarasota has sightseeing Trolley Tours throughout downtown Sarasota so You guys can go and check that out right Along and they can go talk to you about You know all the different features of Downtown Sarasota and on top of that
They also have downtown Sarasota Food Tours so there's a couple companies that Go around you can you know sign up for These events and you can go around taste Testing all these different restaurants If you are a huge foodie you are going To love this food tour and one of these Food Tours at least um they bring you Around a variety of different Restaurants um and I think it'll just be A great time to explore you know Florida And Sarasota Cuisine and now this last Part it's going to appeal to more of the Active lifestyle people so if you love To bike hike run whatever it may be we Have uh about a 13 plus Mile Trail paved Trail called The Legacy trail that runs All the way from downtown Venice uh now It's extended all the way up into Bradington so what's nice about this is It's just a straight shot it's paved It's very well used so you will see a Lot of people using this Trail on a Daily basis especially on the weekends It's a very busy Trail but what's also Cool is that since Northport is Expanding a lot right Northport has been Growing just crazy there's been a huge Real estate boom in Northport so what They're doing is they're making a Connector Trail for all the people that Live in Northport it's a connector trail That goes to downtown Venice so that's Another great thing if you want to get
