Today we’re here at Sarasota Architectural Salvage we’re here with Jesse White and the owner and we’re Going to show you around and see and Show you what he sells here All right first Michael Rowe of the Discovery Channel and now she looks for The fall Banker you’re welcome So what I love is when you walk in you See lots of wood and lots of light tell Us like what you sell mostly and kind of Where you get your products at so the Sarasota Architectural Salvage was born Of my passion to take really cool things Out of buildings that are being torn Down and keep them as part of history And part of just like really good Functional stuff that we can you know Reuse in our houses and upgrade our Houses with some really cool things so Obviously we really focus on a lot of Historic Woods we have a lot of Furniture we have a lot of lightning and A lot of doors I saw a lot of the doors Like the really Day different painted and kind of like That shabby chic the whole thing is like I Have a certain style but I think that I Would pay for a lot of Stuff here and get like have something To use the color or that’s certain Unique Properties

Yeah yeah I mean a lot of the doors You’re looking at come on in Store a lot of doors you see here in the Store are um are salvaged and so their Original paint the original uh etchings And carvings and all that kind of stuff Some of them most of them we do gather Locally but we also bring in containers From around the world so you see a lot Of Indian doors A container from India The designers come in here and what they Do is they just find that one piece that ’ll be whole room around that one piece Architectural elements and then they Just work Okay an academy at Coca-Cola and these Coca-Cola machines I mean helpless you Can also reviews I could see this in Someone’s bar as like a restoration Project or where to get these so I’m Always on the lookout for Coke because It’s so collectible and people love it And I’m almost completely out of coke Crates I’m about I’m down to a couple of Like classic ones but I’ve got a line on A couple more coming in so the old Wooden ones you know but people love Coat and I get them both individually And actually I bought a collection I Bought about 20 machines and I’m down to Maybe five or six but um from one guy so Some of them were some of them need a Lot of work so you know and like who’s

The buyer Um Yeah generally they’re they’re just Enthusiasts you know like uh somebody Who wants to Tinker with it and kind of Get it like where someone you know Sometimes people buy it because the Inside this machine is one part that They need for their machine and they Can’t get it anywhere anywhere because This is a 1950s or a 19 you know and uh They need that part and they want Because there’s a there’s a level of Restoration like you can make something That’s restored with replica parts or You can make something that’s raw stores With authentic parts and the ones that Are restored with the authentic parts Are much more valuable Retired Refrigeration engineer I can Also see this in like a super luxury High-end Extra like And some people use it just decoratively Just like you said Um but we also sell parts and pieces and You know anything so Um we are we’re always we’re always Bringing that in they take it you know Ironically enough Pepsi is even more Rare than Coke I mean um Coke is more Popular I think I think Pepsi because They didn’t do as much um Yeah yeah I’ve I’ve had um I’ve had

Three of these like little you know the Coolers these are the most popular Things when they’re the little the Coolers Um well not so little but you know uh Because those can be refurbed in a lot Different ways I love all this So we’re back here uh back here looking At a stained glass windows I think one Of the interesting things was that you Know the provenance a lot of this stuff Like uh the windows I think we’re back On the other side we’re from a synagogue In Boston yes yeah and so like I think That’s super interesting provenance is Really fantastic when we can share that With our customers sure you know a lot Of our uh you know our tagline is Antique unique and handcrafted so when It’s antique we try to find the story of Where something came from and if it’s You know handcrafted we try to find a Story about you know who made it right This is a great little spot because We’ve got all of the stained glass many Of which are from England some of them Are domestic like I think this one’s Domestic you know there’s all sorts of Crazy things going on and we do Salvage Locally as well as going for the Economics but I’d like to point out uh We have a local artist who makes this Incredible past Stone features that

We’ve got lots of Buddhas we’ve got a Lot of um mermaids and um we’ve got some Pet Planters all kinds of wonderful Things and it’s actually a husband wife Team the maker to make it and then they Um they colorize each one with uh it’s All unique okay because he’s an artist Right no two pieces are exactly the same Wow okay and so it’s just amazing to see What these guys do yeah and yeah we’ve Been working with them for I don’t know 10 15 years I mean obviously There’s like having that Unique Piece Whatever you like I mean it’s before 10 o’clock but okay Probably but you do also offer events Here which I think is this is a really Neat space to do that baby before yeah Yeah I mean um so we’re in one of our Areas this is a bar that we actually Made from Salvage Um we use this when we do special events Um we open up the whole store to people Um we do we give it out to non-profits We have a small fee for a for-profit Organization so but talk to me you know I might uh work with you on it so Um you know so we do these wonderful Events in the store and it’s a great Place to have an event because it’s so Many different things like you’re never Bored yeah there’s so many things to Look at yeah that’s what I’m doing I’m
